Why Should I get an Analysis?

To implement an effective repair, it is vitally important to know and understand the history and activity of the surrounding area. This information will provide the basis for determining the actual cause of the present problem. Without adequate investigative procedures, the problem may redevelop following the repair, or simply move to another area on site. By determining the cause of the erosion, soil instability, or drainage inadequacies, a lasting repair can be developed.

The cost of the analysis is based on the complexity of the problem area being investigated. Basic site drainage, soil stability repairs, and nonstructural wall installations can be evaluated and analyzed by a simple site visit.

Areas where the limits of the investigation are controlled, such as residential and commercial crawl space inspections, wine cellars, parking garages, and building interiors, have a base rate on the first 2000 square feet. Additional square footage, air quality testing, and structural investigations,by an independent engineer, are added as required or requested.

The analysis and investigation of areas where the limits are unknown or complex, requires a site visit to establish a cost parameter. This investigative analysis may require one or all of the following; soil bores and testing, historical topographic map review, site mapping, consulting with an Independent Engineer, Air Quality Specialist or other professional for development of detailed design and repair specifications.

Which site visit works for my Situation?

Site Visit:

Consists of an on site inspection by a Certified Professional Erosion and Sedimentary Control Specialist (CPESC). The site is inspected to determine the limits and the complexity of the repair. A written report outlining the projected repairs or additional investigative procedures required is prepared.

Site Visit Cost Ranges: $110 - $500

CONTROLLED LIMITS INVESTIGATION

Consists of an on site inspection by a Certified Professional Erosion and Sedimentary Control Specialist (CPESC). The site is inspected to determine the required repairs and the complexity. A Photo Log(Digital photos arranged on a CD or DVD for the client), site plan and detailed report are developed to identify each area of concern within the limits of the investigation. A detailed repair design and construction specifications are then developed from the investigations findings.

Should structural concerns be identified during the inspection, a structural investigation, by an independent structural engineer, will be recommended. The extent of the investigation will be detailed along with the associated cost.

Should live spore or mold be detected during the inspection, an air quality investigation, by an air quality specialist, will be recommended. The extent of the investigation and air quality testing to be performed will be developed along with the associated cost.
